Bishop Keith A. Kershaw is the founding Pastor and organizer of the Genesis Church of God in Christ, “The Place of New Beginnings” in Columbia, South Carolina. This church was organized in May of 1991. While he has served the church at large in various capacities, his greatest joy is serving the members of the Genesis Church of God In Christ. Within the Church of God In Christ (COGIC) he has held a number of positions. Bishop Kershaw currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for COGIC. Formerly he oversaw the process & protocols of COGIC’s annual National Meetings as the denominational Meeting Planner and national Director of the Office of Conferences, Events & Travel (OCET). He has served as the Logistics Manager for OCET and as the Logistics Manager for the annual International Holy Convocation. He is a former Executive Board Member, Southeast Regional Coordinator and Co-Chairman of the Jurisdictional Presidents of the International Youth Department. He has served as the Vice-Chairman, Assistant Convention Planner and Executive Board Member for the Auxiliaries in Ministry (AIM) Convention.
Within the South Carolina Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ he has held a number of positions. He is the former Jurisdictional Youth President, a former Chairman & Vice-Chairman of the Pastors & Elders Council, former Assistant Jurisdictional Secretary and former Income Clerk for the annual Workers & Ministers Conference and TRIAD Convention & Holy Convocation. On the district level, he has served as the District UNAC Chairman, Budget & Finance Chair, Youth President and Sunday School Worker.
Bishop Kershaw served for five years as the Chairman of the Board of the Religious Conference Managers Association (RCMA). He also serves, or has served, as an Advisory Board Member for Convention & Visitors Bureaus in Saint Louis, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Spokane, Little Rock, Louisville, Orlando and Minneapolis. Bishop Kershaw has served as an Executive Board Member of the South Carolina Coalition of Black Church Leaders (an affiliate of the Congress of National Black Churches) and former a United Way Board Member. He has served as a member of the Congress of National Black Churches and the Columbia Area Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. He has conducted workshops, seminars and ministered across the USA.

Bishop Kershaw earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from South Carolina State University in 1983.
While there he served in the Student Government Senate, Vice-President of his Junior Class, and Vice-President of the Student Christian Association. In 2002 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from the Charles E. Graham Baptist Bible College and Seminary.
He is married to the former Maxine Y. Greene and is the father of one daughter, Rachel Victoria Kershaw. When not immersed in his work or spending time with family, he is an avid fan of the game of golf.
