Genesis Church of God in Christ

Songs In An Empty Nursery

Jan 4, 2026    Bishop Keith A. Kershaw

The book of Genesis reminds us that there will be seed time. God is described as Alpha and Omega. He is not trapped in our time. If you have not put down the proper foundation when we go from January to December, you will encounter a moment of days ya view. We are created beings. Before God can do anything, you have to make a decision. You have to make the right choice.

When people come to our church, they do not always come in the same position that you experienced. Sometimes their charge is not to engageino ministry, but to come for healing for their needs. The year 2025 was focused on kingdom alignment because God is a God of order. Last year was a year of order. Last year was a time of learning how to do things properly. The church cannot handle growth if there is no structure. Some people had difficulties adjusting to the change. God is trying to get us to the place where we can handle expansions within the ministry.

In Isaiah Chapter 53, there were no good things. Isaiah 53 gave no illustration of why you should sing. How can you ask someone who has been blessed to sit and those who have not been successful to get up and sing. You sing when things go well, but where does a song come from when nothing is going right? How can you come from Isaiah 53, where it is barren, and go to Isaiah 54 and ask to sing a song? Isaiah 53 is about the pain of labor. There is a suffering with purpose. If not careful, you will move from comfortability instead of availability.

You just got to sing. Barrenness in biblical times was lookedat as the women was curse. You may look like you are barren, but you have been trying to do it on your own ability. If you do it God’s way, you will have more than if you did it your way. We are going to have to learn how to sing by faith. We must align ourselves with kingdom expansion in accordance with God’s will. Sing before the children arise. We must thank God for the promise. We are going to be stretched in our commitment, teaching, and doctrine. In everything that we do, we are going to stretch. It may seem that you are being torn, but you are being stretched. We are aligning ourselves to the Hebrew calendar. God has been setting things in order so there can be a year of manifestation.
