Afterwards: God’s Covenant with the Weary Warrior

Apr 19, 2026    Bishop Keith A. Kershaw

After the most victorious win, some people respond differently. You have given individuals the satisfaction they anticipated after the win or success. They begin to question the emotion they anticipated having, and they are left empty. We have David after God’s own heart. After a celebration of defeating Goliath, he spent a decade hiding in a cave. In this lesson, we encounter the event of Abraham.

The valley of Afterward is on our schedule. Your life is not meant to be lived strictly on the mountain. He is the God of the mountain and the valley. Many of us are living in the valley of afterwards. and do not know where we are encountering. Fear does not care what has happened. Fear wants to attack what God has promised in what you believe is in your future. Now and then, you have to tap yourself on your back. We should not be weary and well do season. In due season we shall reap if we faint not. The problem is we do not know what is due season. When it's due to a season, God has established it, but we must wait for the season to pass. We must put on the same mind as Jesus.

Even though my circumstances do not look like they are going to come to pass, I am going to lean on your word. To lean on God means I am going to put my whole weight and put it on God. Lean on the leading of God. When we lean, God credits your account. In God’s eye, I am declare righteousness. God did not just show up; He has been there all the time.
