Genesis Church of God in Christ

The Anatomy of Expansion

Jan 11, 2026    Bishop Keith A. Kershaw

David had a life that was up and down. There were times when David would focus on God, and other days he would focus on his enemies. There are times when you don’t want to do the right thing. There is a moment when we do not understand what God is doing. Our ways and thoughts are not God’s ways or thoughts. What may appear good to us may not be good for you. Punishment looks at your past, but chastisement looks at your future.

Mobile tents are designed for mobility. Designed to be packed up every day, it was a mobile place and designed for a sedentary place. We must make room for broad places. We must enlarge our thinking. We must stop thinking that we are small. New territories long before we arrive. Being full of the Holy Ghost is being lead of the Holy Ghost.

This generation does not get its information from CNN, Fox News, etc. They get their information from TikTok. Small thinking of leaders impairs growth. Things change. There are things we decided to embrace. This is the year of intention. God is in the business of stretching to reach. The church must be in the business of stretching. Stretching creates capacity. The fabric of our faith is going to be stretched. In this season, you have to be all in. In this season, you cannot adhere to that due mentality. We cannot allow ourselves to do what everyone is doing. This is the year that, as long as we bring it, God will fill it. We have to go further than we ever gone before. You have to be driven deep into the ground. You have to get out of your comfort zone. We cannot lengthen our cords withoutstrengtheningn our stakes. It is not enough to just join the church. Expansion requires depth. We gotta grow.
