The Ministry of Less
Some people believe that having more indicates you are blessed than having less. Some people tend to cling to catchy phrases as a biblical indication. God has a biblical calculation that shows having less can be more blessed.
There are seasons when you do everything right, and it seems that everything is going wrong. It seems that your enemy knows your name and address. God appears to struggle with the problems that are going on in your life. You pray for an increase,e and you get a reduction. You cry for clarity, and God closes the door. You ask for a break,k though, and instead you get breaking. If people know the why, they can deal with the what. When you do not know the why, the waiting can become a greater experience. We love to say His ways are above our way and thoughts, but we do not attach it to our own personal experiences.
When we cannot figure out the why, we cannot seem to see our future. Gideon had two names. He was named Jerubbaal. Jerubbaal's name means “let Baal content”. He was given this name for tearing down the Baal god. Gideon prepared an offering to God, and he was approached by the angel of God. God has called us to become more than being inside His presence. Judges 6:37, Gideon asked God to provide him with signs to make sure he was being called by God. God provided Gideon with these signs because Gideon forgot who he was in God. Gideon’s weakness did not deter God.
Clay was not designed to be treasured. It was designed to be broken. John 12:24 states that unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains just a single seed. We as people of God must die daily. The vase was not important. It was what was inside the important vase. God called for ordinary instruments to fight against the enemies. The pitcher represents the people. No one credits the clay anymore. God asks us to present ourselves unto the Lord, which is our reasonable service. God wants to break u,s but we do not want God to break us. It must be empty before it can be filled. The only limit we have to God is how much we bring Him to fill.
