The Danger of Living On Autopilot
There is a danger of coasting and settling for that-a -do. We are looking through the lens of what we embrace rather than at what God wants to say to us. When you are on the wrong spiritual diet, you are not equipped to handle the danger ahead. Satan has a way of bringing things to you that appear sustaining, but are set to destroy you.
The most dangerous place to be in the world is someone who is on autopilot in the church pew. You are wearing the uniform but have no power. The word of God says know those who labor among you. This is the problem that existed even in the time of Joel. A sermon without content is like having a physician give you a prescription without giving you a diagnosis. When you are on your own autopilot, you are in your own space of self-control.
It is time to disengage the autopilot. Satan operates in different ways. Where you struggle is where you encounter your challenges. When you are in autopilot, it means you don’t just coast, but you get put to sleep. There are some sacrifices you have to make to be all God wants you to be. When you become spiritually asleep, you cannot be aware of the hands of the enemy. Spiritual sleep leads to spiritual death.
How do you disengage from autopilot? You must sound the alarm. The Bible says we must return to God and disengage from autopilot and serve God with all of our hearts. Return to God and rend our hearts. An autopilot cannot get you to surrender your hearts. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”
