The Glory of Suffering Without A Cause Bishop Keith A Kershaw

The book of Job is one of the most challenging parts of the Bible. The word of God tells us that we will encounter suffering. Why does God permit saints to go through? Why, if I have done everything according to the word, do I experience suffering? Why does one man rise to the top, and a man with a better life is at the bottom?

You are going to be challenged with your wealth, family, and your health. Is your faith transactional? Do you serve Him based on what God does for you, or is it based on who God is to you? Be careful because God may test you. In our faith, we can be in trouble and still worship God. Job did not know the conversation between God and Satan. However, Job believed in the sovereignty of God.

Job’s suffering was to test his integrity with God. Job did not know that his 2nd test would not take his life. God did not allow Job to have the easy way out. Job was the test of the integrity of God. Job said, Though God slay him, yet he will trust God. Despite his pain, Job still trusted God.

There are three things we must do as it relates to suffering:

We must trust God when everything is going wrong.

We must accept what God allows to come into our lives.

We must have perseverance and patience while suffering, even though we cannot see the end.
